This Sun Path device lets you determine whether or not obstacles such as trees will shade the collector at any time of year. Shadowing can result in reduced efficiency of a solar energy system. This device is a small investment to make to ensure your solar collectors are positioned effectively. The transparent sun path sheet displays the relevant annual irradiation curves with respect to the daily sunshine hours. If you look through the device, having aligned it South using the built-in compass, you will be able to identify objects which will obstruct the path of the sun at any given time of day throughout the year. The location for installation of solar collectors is chosen where no shadowing occurs, or where shadowing only occurs very early or late in the day. The collector should be positioned such that during the transition periods of Autumn and Spring, no shadowing occurs. Similarly, a collector mounted on a westerly orientated roof must be free from shadow during the afternoon. comes with the following latitude sunpath charts: 36-42 / 43-46 / 48-54 / 51-55 / 39 - 42 / 58-60 degrees Price: £65.00 inc VAT and Delivery Quantity in stock: 5 Never look through the eye piece directly into the sun!!
