A solar off grid system is an independent power supply installation, which is not connected to the public grid, or which is at least able to work independently. The main elements are: a solar generator (photovoltaic modules), an energy storage device (solar battery), a measurement and control device (charge controller) as well as loads.
The energy produced by the photovoltaic modules is stored in a solar battery and is available at all times. The charge controller allows efficient loading of the solar battery and guarantees long-term use. If necessary, an inverter allows operation of AC loads. The proper dimensioning and layout have a main impact on the fail-safe function of every stand-alone system.
